Putin through the Russian Foreign Ministry has voiced concern over Kosovo's decision to return the Kosovo Security Forces to the full army.
This ministry has stressed that such a decision undermines Balkan stability.
“Russia has repeatedly attracted attention to the international community that such trends are not in line with Resolution 1244, which says Kosovo should remain under international supervision”, the Russian ministry's statement said.
“No one can provide guarantees that the so-called armed forces, which are made up of KLA terrorists, will use violence against the Serb population in the north”, Putin points out through the Russian MPJ.
In addition, those who support Pristina are said to be rapidly trying to re-organise the KSF into the full army in order to transfer former militants under NATO auspices.
Kosovo's “Army undermines stability in the Balkans and is not in line with the rights of those living there and deserves a safe and secure future”, the Russian MPJ statement concludes.
The Government of Serbia, whose officials have claimed to use any mechanism to prevent its establishment, has also indicated against the Kosovo Army.
