Kosovo for the first time at Asia Investment Summit

The one-day summit, with the participation of numerous companies from various Asian states in general and Southeast Asia in particular, including the diplomatic Corin accredited in the state of Malaysia, introduced several different states of the world, which are valued with great development potential, while from the continent of Europe, Kosovo was the only participating country.
In addition, Kosovo was introduced as the first country in Sam by other participating states. In this case, before those present, Public Communications and Diplomacy Director Sami Kastrati first made a presentation of general developments in Kosovo and the region, and then offered arguments about why the new state should be an alternative country for investment by countries in South East Asia.
The fact that we're here today is the best evidence that our country costs a particular importance to Foreign Direct Investment IHDs. We, we are here to present the opportunities of businesses, which our country offers, assist you in this regard, to convey the sincere invitation to investments and to show our strong determination and dedication that Kosovo is ready for Yu”, Kastrati said.
“Kosovo is the newest country, with the newest population in Europe, located in a strategic location, with liberal market economies, has Stabilisation and Association Agreements with the EU, the CEEFTA one, the Special Trade Agreement with the US, Japan and Norway, has a friendly and competitive business environment, sound economic system, low taxes, cheap and skilled work force”, it has been expressed, ranking more than the more efficient sectors in the country.
“From our point of view, Kosovo remains the most attractive country to do business and invest in Western Balkan countries and sufficient sectors exist: From Agriculture and Food Reduction to Mining and Energy; from infrastructure construction to wood processing; from Information Technology, Telekomunition and Textile to skin processing”.
Following were the country's overall achievements politically and economically, since its declaration of independence to both national and international levels.
During the presentation, Kosovo's financial stability, undertaken economic reforms, including the adoption of the Strategic Investment Law, the one for Private Public Partnerships, the establishment of the Free Economic Areas, modern infrastructure, which connects the country with neighbouring countries and the easiest and fastest access to the European market, the steady economic growth, which for this year is meant to be more than 4 per cent and second in the region; the lowest public debt in the region; the World Bank's report made business, which ranks Kosovo and other 40 economic indicators.
“Praising the facts and statistics shown above, positive assessments on Kosovo's economic performance by the international credit organisation is our view that there are many reasons, that you see and trust in Kosovo, as a centre of South East Asia in the Western Balkans, and that as a bridge to have access to the multi-million market of the European Union”, Kastrati said.
After Kosovo's presentation dozens of businesses and foundations have met the Kosovo Republic delegation, expressing interest in concrete investments from renewable solar and wind energy to textile, telecommunications, banking and other sectors.
Kosovo's participation at the Malaysia Investment Summit was defeated and organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Australia.
