Hoxhaj recurs: EU unfair if not liberalise visas at the end of the year

If the visa liberalisation process does not end this year, then the European Union (BE) from Kosovo citizens will be deemed unfair, Deputy Prime Minister Enver Hoxhaj has reiterated. In an interview for Online Economy, Hoxhaj added that the EU has no reason to postpone this process indefinitely, because Kosovo has met all the conditions required.
“Whether the European Union has claimed that the process is technical in the sense of whether Kosovo meets the criteria or not and Kosovo has met these criteria, at the end of 2018 there is no internal reason in any European Union member country for this process to be put off indefinitely”, he said.
“Unless this happens for every Kosovo citizen, the European Union will be seen as a European Union, which is unfair”.
The deputy prime minister has further responded to the EU representatives' request that leaders be cautious about granting visa-free deadlines. He said they would not be naive and believe in “fairy tales”.
The “Declarations of EU representatives in Pristina that we should be cautious get me the option that should be understood correctly. We're discreet, we're balanced, but we don't need to be naive and we won't be naive to believe in fairy tales.
Hoxhaj has also talked about the latest phase of Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, saying it cannot be closed only by the Government and without opposition support.
He has invited opposition parties to support platform proposed by the leader The PDK, as well as sit to negotiate what needs to be added to it.
Our “position is to have a unique voice that needs to unite Kosovo in dialogue through a joint team that needs to be adopted in the Assembly and a document that reflects our goals in dialogue that reflects our expectations in dialogue, red lines, what should be discussed what should not be discussed, and we expect the opposition to take responsibility with which the dialogue cannot be closed only by the side of the government”.
We think the opposition should say yes platforms. We are willing to sit down and talk about which elements they want to have extra on the platform about who should join the team, which would have to participate in dialogue with Serbia in Brussels”.
According to Hoxhaj, in any other process Kosovo will be late we cannot be unique in Brussels, where, according to him, the battle for dialogue should be fought.
