This decision is expected to be implemented starting in 2019 with a five-year extension, affecting 90 percent of the American coasts.
“Autorities aim to provide 47 drilling authorizations in this period of five years”, Natural Resources Minister Ryan Zinke stressed during a press conference.
These measures reject several provisions for protecting the coast taken by Barack Obama, the predecessor of Donald Trump's coming to power a year ago, sends to Atch.
But this measure, not popular, has been condemned by many elected, Democrats and Republicans, by the affected areas as well as by environmental protection organisations.
