Should Pristina follow the Chinese model to fight polluted air

As Pristina has become the world's most polluted air city in recent days, China's capital has drafted a broad plan, supported by a $3 billion budget to combat air pollution. Divided money, which represents a $39 million increase compared to the budget [...]
The allocated money, which represents a $39 million increase compared to last year's budget, will be used to control pollution resources, such as coal, vehicles, and dust, and to support projects to replace clean energy coal in rural areas, according to the Beijing project in 2018.
The local Beijing government will push ahead with its anti-Smog campaign this year to enable 450 clean fuel villages for heating.
The Chinese capital has so far removed coal use in 974,000 homes in 2,237 villages, reducing coal use for 2.9 million tons during the heating season.
Beijing, which is the world's second largest natural gas consumer, according to Moscow, aims to make lower areas of the country independent of coal by the end of 2018, replacing gas or current coal, reports The Times of India.
The burning of winter coals, especially in villages, is a major source of air pollution. The Chinese capital, which suffers from smog, has intensified measures in recent years to improve air quality, and has achieved remarkable results, the newspaper Express broadcast.
In 2017, Beijing has turned 901 villages, which once depended on heating coals, and has driven nearly half a million older vehicles away from use. The town is not used at all in the six districts of Beijing and its flat southern areas.
As a result of these measures, the city has enjoyed the best quality of air in recent times, with a steady increase in good air days since the pollution control measures began to be implemented in 2013, according to the Beijing Environmental Protection Agency.
The average density of PM2.5 particles in Beijing has been 58 micrograms per cubic metre last year, reaching targets set by the State Council, and 20.5 percent lower than in 2016.
According to the municipal assembly, Beijing plans to invest more than 67 billion dollars in environmental protection this year, in sectors such as air pollution, improved water and land, as well as integrated treatment of waste.
