About a thousand and 200 suspected people have ended up in handcuffs, many already serving sentences in local prisons.
Antidroga data from January to November speaks that the most common drugs in the country are marijuana, where a total of about 1900kg have been confiscated, while other species were less present in Kosovars' hands.
“Along this year (2017) Kosovo Police have opened over a thousand and 171 narcotics cases, where there were 1,491 persons while arrested there were more than 1,000 and 200 persons”, the Kosovo Police report reported, broadcast Indescsonline.
Unlike past years, in 2017 an increase in the number of farms involved in drug cases has been observed, with a total of 51 suspected of possession, cultivation, and drug sales.
According to police information, 17 criminal groups have been destroyed during 2017.
The increase in drug cases, mainly in schools, has also forced the country's Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj to react.
He during a visit he made to the Directorate General of Police urged police officials to work more on preventing drugs in schools.
