Kosovo police react after news of Serb units in the north

During today's media day, it was reported that masked persons in Serbian Army uniforms and emblems armed with heavy weapons are operating on Kosovo's territory in the northern part, in the mountains of Leposaviqi.

And their presence on that field had confirmed KFOR itself, who had said that whatever their activity is under the responsibility of local security authorities to observe and make sure the country's security is not at risk.

Kosovo Police have reacted to this, respectively, the Regional Directorate of the Mitrovica Police north.

Kosovo police have clarified that “Airsoft Club Vukovi” is an independent, unprofitable, independent organisation which, according to its statute, belongs to sports society and should mainly promote sports discipline. It was formed based on the law on freedom of co-operation among NGOs, under law 04/L-57.

Organization in question, “Air Soft Club Vukovio” Northern Mitrovica, which was led by Momcilo Arlov, has been suspended/responsed to function with the leadership's own request of this NGO, in co-operation with the relevant ministry, immediately after the latest activities that were undertaken in August 2016, and since then, no activity of the same kind has been registered in any of the northern municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo.

Of the Kosovo Police officials in northern Mitrovica, today with 12,01.18, conversation has been held with abserfuar Momcilo Arlov, who has claimed it is about old photographs, while most of the photos presented have been released from the internet, and also declared that the “Air Soft Vukov” there has been no activity since August 2016.

Moreover, the police units of the Mitrovica Regional Police Directorate north, on a daily basis, have and are acting in order to prevent various criminal activities, including urban and rural areas, and during such police activities in rural areas, none of the available information from residents of these areas has been recorded for similar activities.

Given that information of this unconfirmed information can affect the sense of citizens' uncertainty, we assure you that the Kosovo Police, with the highest dedication to the service of all citizens, will continue to exercise its activities under legal authorization, to prevent any form of criminal activity of any kind.
