On October 23rd 2014, President Ahmeti had met Kaltrin Nezir, who had managed to win the beauty race “Miss Kosova” and, according to a communique of that time, the mayor had indicated that he had hosted a special guest who “made him proud, with its presentation, not just the citizens of Lipjan, but all Albanians”.
That communiqué said Ahmeti had praised Miss Kosovo for its successes, wishing continued success in career building in the future, but along with that, he had shared some tools to support its arrival in the Philippines, where it would represent Kosovo in the “Miss Earth 2014<1>.
But the trip had failed, and three years after this story, Ahmeti from LDK is facing a criminal row by political rivals, The PDK, which accuses Ahmeti that despite the fact that Nezir's trip had failed, it has been allowed to spend money to fix the teeth, Insander reports.
But why had the journey failed? Neziri himself had explained this in dozens of interviews he had given.
“Last year, I have been selected as Miss Kosovo to represent Kosovo in Miss Earth, but because of the very short period and incomplete documentation I failed to obtain the visa and thus remained without representation”, she had said in an interview two years ago.
But she was not without representation. Last year, it was selected by Miss Kosovo organiser Agnes Vutaj to represent Kosovo in Miss Earth 2015, which was held in Vienna. Neziri was elected in 2015, even Miss Earth Kosova. So she had held Miss Earth Kosova's crown for two years.
I absolutely did not know that this year it would represent Kosovo. But I received a phone call from Agnes two months ago, and she has found it reasonable for me to represent Kosovo this year because last year I couldn't --”, Neziri explained in an October 2015 interview.
My dream last year stopped half, but it was realised this year”, she said.
So she had traveled to Vienna in November that year, but not with the money from the municipality.
The organizers of Miss Earth 2016 had even mentioned the fact that she had failed to reach the Philippines, and that was what impressed her.
I've loved this description and very interesting all the time since January, I've been told that I'm going to be here this year and I'm happy that this year I'm going to be present there”, Neziri said in the 21st interview.
