“Told ya” is a song about conversion, from a little girl with whom they mock it's “like a guy” to a woman who knows you're special only if you're yourself.
Dana Zeqiri presented the second song for the international market at the “Milk” site, where he also gave a very intimate interview. Albanian singer born and raised in Sweden confessed that she was a victim of bulimism when she was young, and when she grew up and came to Albania, she felt she was stumbled because she was a female.
Dana Zeqiri confirmed to “Milk” that in Kosovo, he was asked to find sponsors and find the support of the men in power, as it would be the only way out. Soon he got tired and decided to pursue a career abroad.
She is now working to publish her first collection of music to the foreign public, and has an important name for industry producer Rick Steel. Its EP is called “King” (Kings) because, as Dana explains, her musical summary “seeks to empower women so that we can be the next face on dollar bills. ”
I was born and raised in Sweden and the mentality there (in Sweden) was quite different, and the husband controls everything and the woman can have more money or power than the man. But there were only women in my house. I was “guy” but then I said: “jo, that's bullshit” )
Dana recalled that considering herself a feminist at the time, the return to Kosovo was very difficult. For one thing, because they looked down on him as someone who looked familiar. Second, he was advised to provide the support of successful men
When you go to another place, people look at you differently and they say: “But what do you know that you come here and it seems to make a big difference?” I was told that I needed sponsors, that I needed men to help me. ”
I worked hard and it was hard because it was new. I'm proud because the young and the fans I have now realize that we can too. There's nothing you can't accomplish if you have faith. ”
The singer describes the period in Kosovo as a time when it was stuck, as it was not what she had predicted.
“Ngeca there. My plan was to go, do some good music, see how it went and then come to America. I stayed there for 10 years. I felt like I was losing myself- I wasn't myself as a human, and I wasn't even an artist. I told myself: “Time to move! ”)
For over a year now, Dana has moved to Los Angeles while working for an international career. In March, Dana Zeqiri published the first song, “Four Season”, in whose clip appears as the popular rapper model French Montana.
