The acting minister for Dialog, Edita Tahiri, said today that Kosovo remains committed to the neighbourhood dialogue under way in Brussels, noting that mutual recognition between two states, Kosovo and Serbia is the determining factor for lasting peace in the region.

She made these comments during a meeting with former Bulgarian Foreign Affairs Minister Daniel Mitov, with whom she has talked about developments in the region and the Euro-Atlantic perspective of the countries of the region.

At this meeting, Minister Tahiri said Kosovo and Bulgaria are friendly countries, and Bulgaria's support for Kosovo's independence and quick recognition constitutes a great value in relations between the two states.

Tahiri said Kosovo remains committed on its path to the Euro-Atlantic future, and Bulgaria's support in this direction matters to our country.

Tahiri said he highly praised the contribution of Kosovo's civil society and international organisations to lighting up the results of dialogue and the benefits that this dialogue has directly had on citizens, communities, Kosovo and the region in general.

For his part, Mitov stressed that relations between Kosovo and Bulgaria should deepen in all areas and separately in the area of the economy.

He said dialogue has no alternative among countries in the region for a Euro-Atlantic future, and that Kosovo has noted great progress in this regard.
