Thus, Milovan Drescu, chairman of the Council for Kosovo in Serbia, has said that “for us is unacceptable for the self-declared state to be an Interpol member. With the eventual entry, Kosovo would have shorter ways to establish the indictment and make them directly competent, and no longer through UNMIK”, FoNet continues.
He has added that Kosovo's membership bid in Interpol is “compensation for the impasse that has followed in achieving full international subjectivity”, stressing that this has occurred despite strong pressure from international sponsors.
During September, according to warnings, Kosovo's membership in Interpol is expected.
Interpol is an international police organisation.
