Out of extreme weather, 100,000 Europeans may die per year

Extreme weather can kill up to 152 thousand people a year in Europe, starting in 2100, if nothing is taken to control the effects of climate change, scientists say. The number is 50 times greater than the deaths reported now, says The Lancet Planetary Health journal, according to [...]
The number is 50 times greater than the deaths reported now, says The Lancet Planetary Health journal, according to the BBC.
The heat waves may cause 99% of weather - related deaths, where southern Europe will be the worst affected.
Experts said the journal's findings were disturbing.
If nothing is done to reduce gas emissions from greenhouses and improve impact reduction policies against extreme weather events, then research by the European Commission's John Research Centre says deaths caused by extreme weather could rise from 3 thousand per year between 1981-2010, up to 152 thousand soos between 2071-2100.
