President Thaci has said the National Day of France, July 14th, marks the birth of new values that promoted freedom, equality and brotherhood, not only in France but much wider.
These values, according to President Thaci, were inspired by many peoples in the world to overcome fear, break oppression, and gain freedom.
These values were built by many modern states based on the will of the people, national unity, good governance, secularism, where all citizens are equal before law”, President Thaci has said.
Prior to those present at the ceremony, President Thaci has stressed that the people of Kosovo look back with awe on this event, which has had tremendous emissary impact throughout Europe.
“The struggle for freedom, independence and statehood in Kosovo was the union of people's aspirations for a sovereign state and the strong support of our international friends.
France was the first state that the day before the declaration of independence introduced Kosovo on the map of independent states until next day recognised our independence, he has said. President Thaci has stressed that this is evidence that our path towards freedom, independence and statehood was shared.
