Medications used to treat acid refluks have been linked to a higher risk of premature death in a new study.

A team of American scientists have conducted a long data survey by the American Department of Veterans Affairs, writes the Independent”,
Over a period of nearly six years, they analyzed the data of more than 3 million people to compare users rather than users of stomach ulcer treatment.
During the study, published in the BMJ Open magazine, they also analyzed the data of some 350,000 people to compare the risk of death among those using IPP drugs or some other type of stomach - reducing medicine. Compared to other drugs, it turned out that people using IPP drugs were 25% more threatened by premature death by any causer.
