The eight Serb detainees in Zakynthos for beating to the death of American Bakaria Handerson are in custody as they appeared before the tribunal yesterday.
Under Greek laws, those arrested could be sentenced to life imprisonment.
Greek media record that the accused have dismissed all charges against them, even though the prosecution's videos are clearly seen as images of the beating broadcast Periscope.
One of the accused told the judge he didn't hit the victim, “I didn't beat him, nor did I hit him because my hand was broken”, he said.
The bartender said he didn't kill American Henderson, “Yeah, I beat him, but I didn't intend to kill him. /Periscopi/
