Confessions of surviving women of torture during recent Kosovo war
They are living witnesses to the violence they experienced during the recent war in Kosovo. The story of surviving women of torture now 18 years remains silent. Not a few times institutions and society have been criticised for not doing anything about them.
But ten of them have decided to break the silence and share their story with others in the book “I want to hear: Book memory of the stories of surviving women torture during the last war in Kosovo”, published by “Integre” and “ForumZDF”
Although ten confessions are a small percentage of such cases, it has been reported that there are about 20 thousand women who have had this fate the idea of the book, inaugurated in May this year in Pristina, is to document from the main source a very painful past of Kosovo.
In June, through this book, the confessions of these victims of the Serbian state were also heard in Serbia, at the inauguration held in Belgrade, within the framework of the festival “Goody, Dobar Dan!“, which caused fuss and was rejected by nationalist organisations.
In the following days “Koha Ditore” brings this shocking testimony as a reminder of a major crime that remains unpunished, and in support of the demand of victims to be heard voice.
The first is Teuta's confession to this changed name to protect the victim.
