Festina Kurteshi, 24 hours chairman of Gjilan

The mayor of the Gjilan municipality, Lutfi Haziri, has handed over today's position to Festina Kurtesh, chairman of the Children's Assembly, who will exercise this task for 24 hours along with her elected staff, all children, announce the municipal statement.

We are writing a common event in Gjilan today. It's a work tradition in the office where I've been practicing duty. To this day Festus has been chosen to exercise this commission. I hope that today you will have a light day of work, but extremely busy with activities due to June 1st were the extraordinary elections, the mayor's duty is being handed over to a child, in this case Festina, as the most successful chairman of the Children's Assembly at the level of the Republic.”, Chairman Haziri said at the ceremony of handing over the chairman's office.

I believe that this symbolic exercise of duty prepares our citizens for sensifying children's rights for school, for equal life and more dignified representation. Children are not just our future, but it is our present, above all, in which we should invest in care, education and employment”, Haziri said.

On the other hand, Festina Kurteshi has thanked Haziri for his respect, saying that he will strive to exercise his chief's commission in 24 hours.

During the day, Mayor Kurteshi and her team will meet the children of exiles, visit primary school “tohim Mitko” and natural high school “Xavi Ahmeti” to continue with a visit to the Chershen“Intel”, Public Services and Administration Directorate.
