Teenage via Facebook, two young people arrested in Pristina

Today, police investigators from the Pristina Regional Directorate, supported by the Cyber Crimes Investigation Unit, have finalised a police operation that resulted in the arrest of two people suspected of several cases of blackmail.

This operation was undertaken by police, after it was reported that social media (instagram, Facebook, etc.), suspected persons published photos (which were mounted with the portrait of victims) if the victims did not offer the amount of money suspected persons wanted.

Viewing such reporting as disturbing, the police with added intensity have taken a series of operational and investigative actions and a day after reporting cases (in Podujevo), have managed to identify and arrest two suspected persons:

1. H, male, 19 years old, and E. R, male, 16.

By order of the state prosecutor against them, blackmail cases have been initiated, and the same have been sent to the detention centre.

So far, several such cases have been presented to the police, so we're considering this fact to the citizens, who may have been the victim of such cases being reported to the nearest police station, to jointly contribute to fighting this very disturbing phenomenon.
