Signings submitted for Albin Kurti's candidacy for Vetevendosje chairman

Albin Kurti has formalised the candidacy for Vetevendosje chairman after the two deputies in charge of collecting signatures from members of the party's General Council, Albulen Haxhiu of Victory Pacolli, have submitted the VV Electoral Commission's required signatures today.

Victory Pacolli himself confirmed this today.

Haxhiu and Pacolli are charged with signing the signatures since Albin Kurti is in custody because of his refusal to respond to the court's successive invitations to attend hearings where he is accused of dropping teargas at Kosovo Assembly sessions.

According to the rules in power, the candidacy for the chairman is formalised with the handover of 1/5 of the members of the VV General Council.

“Supporting Albin Kurti's candidacy has given their 3/5 of members of the General Council”, Pacolli said.

“We know that many other members of the General Council would have signed in support of this candidacy, but realised that now that the criterion for signatures has been met and exceeded, there is no longer any need to gather other signatures and deliver today these that were already collected”, she added.

She said that not asking for signatures from each member, Kurt's camp has been thinking about other evental candidates.

Moreover, we also thought that the possibility of someone else planning to run by collecting signatures from members of the General Council could exploit this alternative”, said Victory Pacolli.

The vote for chairmanship of the Vetevendosje Movement is held according to the principle, a member of a vote.

Visar Ymer's mandate at the helm of the party expires next month.
