A survey by the Spanish newspaper El Paés reveals that the epilogue of elections in Catalonia will not be clear at all. Pro-independence parties are constantly losing points in polls against pro-competitive ones.
The poll is prepared just a week before the elections, expected to be held on December 21st. The race remains very tight, and recent developments appear to have had little impact on Catalan opinion that is divided over independence for more than two decades.
The Catalan Parliament has 135 seats, meaning that a party or a coalition should win at least 68 seats to make the majority. But the poll, however, has not clarified which grouping can reach the majority.
The survey shows that 44.9% of Catalan voters will choose constitutionalists -- namely, anti-independence forces, while 43.8% of those pro-independence terms -- lead Periscopi.
