On January 15th 1999, Serbian paramilitaries in Recak killed over 45 Albanian civilians, among them eight KLA members.
Milosevic's genocide plan in addition to the killings was focused on spreading propaganda for the freedom fought by the Kosovo Liberation Army.
One of Recak's most touching videos is the moment when Serbian troops try to force an Albanian senior to speak ill of the KLA in an interview. They instruct him to say that the KLA in Recak is actually the one who is committing crimes.
