The match between Belgrade's Partizan and Korca's Skenderbe is of the competitive character [Europe League] and is held tonight by 7:00. The first match played in Korca had ended 1 to 1, in a rather good organisation that did not associate with any incident. Both teams took one point, and are likely to win the group.
This match has enormous significance for the future of both teams, and therefore for the future of Albanian and black football. Partizan is the second strongest team in Serbia, and due to heavy finances, it is well behind Crvena Zvezda. A evental qualifications in the next phase would provide a large sum of money and a greater opportunity for transfers in the years to come. Skenderbeu, meanwhile, is the most convincing Albanian team, despite losing the champion's title from Kukes last year, and historical qualifications would also make him more financially powerful.
Second place in the group is held by the Swiss Young Boys team, which has only one point more than Partizan and Skenderbeu. The eventual loss of this team tonight by Dinamo and Kjevi would make the Serbian Albanian teams playing against each other today, favourites to take the next phase.
As far as the game's concerned, there's no good football expected. The first match was quite monotonous, and war was fought mainly in the middle of the field, with both teams losing spare balls. But this time, a more beautiful football is expected, because Skenderbeu is best represented as a guest, while Partizan will have the support of his team's staunch fans, who have recently begun to smell possible qualifications.
The second reason is historical background. In the match, held 30 years earlier, Vlora's Flamurtar had managed to eliminate the Belgrade Partizan team for which Kosovo football player from Podujevo, Fadil Vokrri [who had even scored a goal]. In the confrontations between the two Balkan countries on the team level, the most successful [at least until tonight] is Albania, despite the worst league level. If he at least drew a draw, this advantage would continue.
