On October 5, the New York Times published an exhibition showing that Harvey Weinstein, one of Hollywood's most important and honorable figures, had sexually molested and abused women for almost 30 years. On October 10th, New Yorker followed an extensive report. Just hours later, the Times presented a report with even more public data, including film industry stars such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie.
Together, these charges suggested that Weinstein could have misused his power as a filmmaker for decades, and identified a pattern of his conduct through which Weinstein usually invited women to various hotels for business meetings, with the goal of using them sexually against their will. Most of the women Weinstein scored were young and had little institutional powers, who then said they were afraid to talk about why he could destroy their career.
The list of women who already accuse Weinstein is too long, with more women expected to sue. These are some of the women who have publicly admitted to being sexually abused or abused by Weinstein. The following parts may contain extenuating and disturbing data of sexual behavior.
Kate Bechkinsale [memorial restaurant]
I was called to see Harvey Weinstein at the Savoy Hotel when I was 17. I thought the meeting would be held in a conference room, which is quite common. When I arrived, the reception told me to go to the room. He opened the door to me in my bathing suit. I was so naive and young that I didn't remember a man so old and attractive would expect me to have sexual interest in him. After refusing to drink with the reason that I was going to school the next day, I left, worried but harmless. A few years later he asked if he had tried to do anything with me on that first date. I realized that he did not remember whether he offended me or not.
Cara Delevigne [back]
When I started working as an actress, I received a phone call from Harvey Weinstein who asked me if I had slept with any women I had seen in the media with. It was a very strange and disturbing call...
A year or two later, I went to a meeting with him in a hotel hall with the director of a movie that was about to take place. The director left the meeting and Harvey asked me if I could stay longer and talk to him... Then he invited me into his room. Soon I refused and asked his assistant if I had the car outside. She told me it wasn't and she wouldn't be out for a while, and I had to go into his room. At that moment I felt very helpless and frightened, but I didn't want to act hoping I was wrong about what I thought about the situation. When I arrived, I felt relieved to see another woman in his room, and I thought I was safe. He told us to kiss as she approached him. I freed myself and asked if he knew I could sing. And so I started to do it. I thought this would make the situation better, more professional, as an audition.
Eva Green [back]
I met him in Paris on business matters at which he was very inappropriate and made me push him. I managed to escape without any consequences, but the experience he left in me was shocking and disgusting.
Angelina Jolie [actor and director]
I had a bad experience with Harvey Weinstein in my youth, and as a result, I chose never to work with him and told others not to. That attitude towards women in every area, in every country, is unacceptable.
Lupita Njongo [the host]
Harvey took me to his bedroom in his bedroom and said he wanted to give me a massage. I thought he was kidding first. But it turned out not. For the first time since I met her, I felt insecure. I got a little freaked out and thought I'd massage him: that would allow me to be physically controlled, and know exactly where his hands were.
Gwyneth Paltrow [the host]
When Mr. Weinstein tried to massage her and invited her to his bedroom, she immediately left, as she said, and she thinks she felt surprised to leave. I thought you were my Uncle Harvey,” she thought, showing that she had seen her as her mentor.
