The sting occurred during construction of a new underground facility at the Pukyung testing site in North Korea on October 10th, the report said.
Up to 100 people were caught in tunnels and a further decline occurred during efforts to rescue them by increasing the death toll to at least 200, according to Japan's TV “Asahi”.
The claims, reportedly made by a North Korean official, still have to be independently verified, reports “Daily Mail”, the Periscope broadcast.
TV “Asahi” said the incident was the result of weakening the ground surrounding the country following the sixth North Korean nuclear test, which took place in Pukyung in March. /Periscopi/
