US must be included in dialogue between Kosovo, Serbia

Political analysts in Pristina, the possibility of including the United States of America in the process of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, see the process as important and a good opportunity for the process to produce positive results. Naim Rashit, director of the Balkan Policy Group in Kosovo, considers US eventual participation in dialogue, [...]
“Now, the next phase of dialogue that seems to be a much more complicated and heavier phase because you want a more comprehensive agreement. At any cost Kosovo insists on the US role and engagement in dialogue, but Mrs. Mogerini has probably understood the issue and she has had a meeting with vice president Pence to find US integrations in the dialogue process. I believe that Germany will also have a more intensified role in the dialogue process”, Rashi says.
Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, during his recent visit to New York, has called for US involvement in the Pristina-based dialogue process.
Thaci at the meeting with Mike Pence vice president has said that the US's “direct involvement in this final phase is determining for reaching a final, applicable agreement for both sides”.
Rashit says President Thaci's request is fair.
The request is fair and I believe it will result in a more significant commitment of the United States of America”, Rashi estimates.
In contrast, other political analyst, Imer Mushkolaj, says that in the next phase of dialogue with Serbia, besides the US, Germany can be expected to be included, but, as he says, Russia can require the same thing.
The United States of America, of course, remains to see the modalities in which form it will be included. But if the United States is involved at the same level or the same mode, I expect Russia to be included. Otherwise I don't expect that alone The US be part of the” dialogue, Mushkolaj estimates.
The involvement of the United States in dialogue, says Mushkolaj, would give a faster pace of implementation of agreements and the process itself.
The involvement of any U.S. administration representative, I believe it could give a new impulse to dialogue and not drag on as much as it has been since 2011 with technical dialogue and then politics. But, it is quite another issue of how the US will respond, and if they really find it necessary at this stage, with all the problems they have in other countries of the world, to be included in the outcome of Kosovo's dialogue with Serbia”, Muskolaj points out.
Representatives of nongovernmental organisations in Kosovo have said that after six years since the start of the dialogue in Brussels, in addition to the impasse in the agreement implementation plan, reports between Kosovo and Serbia have been tense.
Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, in an interview for Radio Free Europe, has said that continuing dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia should be service to the peoples, so not to remain the sole dialogue of leaders.
Meanwhile, Kosovo Assembly deputies have said this institution should have a much more active role in the process.
So far, Pristina and Belgrade have reached a series of agreements in the EU-launched dialogue, including the first agreement on normalisation of relations in April 2013, which envision the formation of the Association of Serb-run municipalities
The goal of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, according to the European Union, is to relax reports between the two countries so that Kosovo and Serbia can continue further with the European integration process.
