Haradinaj government with large number of deputy ministers, new appointments expected

Their appointment has been made days after the government vote, while new appointments are expected during this week.

The last to be appointed to this position are AAK's Muharrem Nitaj and AKR's Arben Gecaj.

It is only the Democratic Party of Kosovo that has so far appointed no deputy minister for reasons yet unknown.

The large number of ministries has been sharply criticised by many analysts and civil society.

In a pronouncement for Indexline, politicologist Donic Salova has no doubt ruled that this government is the largest government.

This government is no doubt the largest government, both in the number of ministers and in the number of deputy ministers”, Sallova has said.

Even according to him, it has to do with the large number of ruling parties, as well as the political conditions that have been made in these parties, for every minister and deputy minister.

“Haradinaj has been trying to appoint from 1-2 deputy ministers every 3-4 days not to really put in their large number, but the number is definitely huge and that would be more difficult than supporting executive”, Sullivan said.

According to him, there will be confusion of competencies between the deputy ministers and there will be greater space for “afer” and intervention.

“Haradinaj had promised reform of the state administration and its reduction, but with this government mega-structural, I doubt that such a thing will be achieved, even the administration will be inclined to grow even more by the party militants of each of the ruling parties”, has ended Salova.

The Kosovo government has exactly 21 ministries, while if two deputy ministers are placed in which of them, the number will reach 42 deputy ministers in total.
