Spectacular theft in Andrea Bocelli's villa, thieves get $500,000

A planned theft in detail occurred at a villa owned by the family of the renowned Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli at Forte dei Marmi, in the area of Lucca, Italy.
The event took place during the night, between Friday 26th and Saturday 27 June, while the villa was currently rented for an American family spending holidays in Versilia.
According to the first investigation, thieves acted between 9: 00 p.m. and midnight, the moment the family in the villa was out for dinner. Once inside the apartment, the authors have searched rooms and received a large quantity of valuable items, including jewelry, luxury watches, cash, and expensive brands.
The exact value of the damage has not yet been determined, but the first estimates speak of a sum that could reach up to 500 thousand euros.
Here goes the search for perpetrators.
The checkout at the apartment has proved that the villa door was not properly closed and the alarm system had not been activated, what could have facilitated the job of the robbers.
The Bocelli family owns several properties in the Versilia area, some of which are rented during the summer season for high-level tourists.
Authorities are analyzing possible footage of security cameras in the area and any other evidence that can help whiteen the event.
Forte dei Marmi Mayor Bruno Murzi has expressed regret at the event and has said the municipality is doing its best for security, citing increased patrols, numerous monitoring cameras and demands for more police forces during the tourist season. It has also called on citizens and apartment owners to use security systems and alarms against theft. /Periscope/
