In the worst existential times for Kosovo, Dr. Bukoshi stood firm in the way of righteousness and freedom, serving with unique dignity and courage, became a powerful voice of resistance, a hardworking human rights lawyer. It encompassed the political conscience of Albanian resistance against Milosevic's oppressive regime as rare. In all his activity, Dr. Bukoshi represented the model of the statesman who viewed the function as a great responsibility rather than a privilege.
With clear vision and firm determination, he linked Kosovo with international allies and contributed to the establishment of the historic alliance with the West, laying the foundation for the liberation and building of Kosovo's free and democratic state. His contribution as prime minister in supporting the state structures was vital and would remain a glorious part of Kosovo's history and the Albanian nation. In times of challenging circumstances, we had the honor of working closely with this righteous and knowledgeable leader, courageous and visionary, as well as to get to know and share our friendship with a man of independent thought, exemplary honesty, and deep moral clarity, who, with his work and activity, became a symbol of hope, courage, and inspiration for Albanians to get their destiny in their hands to gain freedom. Today, Albania lost one of its finest sons. But the memory of him will live in the hearts of anyone who faced him on the road to free and independent Kosovo, whose lives he devoted to in rare devotion. We express our heartfelt condolences to the Bukoshi family, his friends, Kosovo citizens and all the Albanian people.
