The incumbent Deputy Prime Minister, Besnik Bisilimi, has provided some clarification concerning the funds Kosovo is expected to accept from the EU Growth Plan, writes Periscope.

He has suggested that the Kosovo government has maintained all deadlines set by the European Commission.

According to him, if the European Commission were to stick to the set deadlines, Kosovo today would have a ratified Development Plan agreement.

His reaction comes after country president Vjosa Osmani, after meeting with leaders of political parties last week, said the non-compliance of the Assembly has caused the loss of millions of euros from the EU.

A huge fog has been caused in relation to the funds Kosovo is expected to accept from the EU Growth Plan, so let me clarify the situation for public opinion.

Initially, in the process of drafting and negotiating the agenda, the Government of Kosovo has maintained all deadlines set by the European Commission, handing over necessary documents, not in time, nor quality.

However, as a cause of late approval of the EU Council Growth Plan, the Commission has failed to meet its predetermined deadlines. So if the European Commission were to stick to these set deadlines, we would have a ratified growth plan agreement today and already accepted the advance.

However, it is important to point out that no payment, including advance, can be lost. They will be reduced to the moment Kosovo ratifys the agreement, and the plan will continue directly in the implementation phase as it is previously. Kosovo's budget is essential and the delays that have been caused as a result of the failure to create institutions at any time put Kosovo's budget in trouble if funds on the part of the EU are not accepted.

Finally, even though the constitution is not complete, and the Government members are on duty, the state device still works as always. Many jobs are under way, and other ministries and line institutions are carrying out their duties and activities within deadlines and competencies. The necessary agreements and laws are being prepared for approval in the Parliament Government once the institutions are established. Therefore, neither money nor reform enforcement are being jeopardised.
