Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky has expressed regret over what happened to US counterpart Donald Trump last week after saying that the “meeting didn't go exactly the way it should” and that “was a shame it happened that way”.
A few days after the meeting at the Oval Office, the American president ordered a pause in military support for Ukraine, reports Sky News.
In a long post on Tuesday, the Ukrainian president has said he would like to “reiterate Ukraine's commitment to peace” and added that Kiev is “ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible”.
He has said the country was ready to sign an agreement on minerals “at any time and in any” format.
“Regarding the mineral and security agreement, Ukraine is willing to sign it at any time and in any appropriate format. We see this agreement as a step towards greater security and solid security guarantees, and I really hope it will function effectively”, it is expressed.
Zelensky has also stressed how grateful he and Ukrainian were for US assistance.
“We really appreciate how much America has done to help Ukraine preserve its sovereignty and independence”, it is expressed.
