Dzafce, which was crowned “Miss Finland” in September, was involved in a storm on social networks after a photograph of her was published making a gesture seen as racist.
The photo shows Dzafce drawing eyes into a tilted shape of fingers, with the text down in Finnish: “kiinalaika syömäs” translated roughly like “eating with a Chinese person”.

Image was widely interpreted as a mockery of Asian people. Initially, Dzafce defended the gesture, explaining that he had attracted his eyes due to a “severe head pain”.
However, the organisation “Miss Finland”, which manages the annual contest, said on Wednesday it does not accept racism or discrimination behaviour in any form.
On Thursday, the organisation expressed a sincere “” excuse for the incident, announcing that Dzafce will be released from its title, broadcast the telegraph.
As a result of this decision, Tara Lehtone, who ranked second place after Dzafce will take her place.
Dzafce, born in Oulu and raised in Kuopio, is originally from Kosovo.
I am very sorry for all those I have offended and hurt with my actions on the social networks”, the press conference said Thursday. /Periscope/
