The American Heart Association (AHA) stresses that a high number of people meet criteria for cardiovascular-veka-metabolic syndrome (CKM), writes Daily MailFollow Periscope.
This condition is a complex disorder composed of cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, overweight, and Type 2 diabetes, and was officially determined only by AHA in 2023.
However, only 12 per cent of adults surveyed in August this year said they had ever heard of CKM health or CKM syndrome.
The CKM syndrome highlights the way failure to function in a system of heart, kidneys, or metabolic system can negatively affect others.
Together, these conditions greatly increase the risk of serious health results, such as heart attacks, strokes, and heart failure.
According to the AHA, nearly 90 per cent of U.S. adults have at least one risk factor for CKM syndrome, including high blood pressure, abnormal cholesterol, high blood glucose (scrow), excessive weight and reduced kidney function.
Unlike some chronic conditions, CKM syndrome is often reversed, especially when caught early.
