Abdixhiku quotes Rugova for the anniversary of the Kachanic Constitution: Kosovo State Foundations Day

Abdixhiku has recalled President Rugova's statement, which had said September 7th entered Kosovo's newest history as the day of establishing the foundations of Kosovo's state that came after the July 2nd 1990 Declaration of Independence.

The message of President Lumir Abdixhiku, on the 34th anniversary of the Kachanic Constitution:

The “Dates like this, of September 7, 1990, proudly remind us of the determination and courage of MPs at the time for the historic act and pebbles on the road to Kosovo's freedom and independence -- the proclamation of the Constitution of Kosovo, known as the Constitution of Kacanik.

Although under difficult circumstances of occupation by Serbia, the political and intellectual elite of that time assembled around the most democratic movement, the Democratic League of Kosovo, organised and founded the first democratic institutions of a state being formed.

The Constitution of Kacanik was not simply a legal document; it was a powerful act of resistance to the occupation and injustice experienced by the people of Kosovo. It represented the steadfast will of an entire nation to live in freedom and to build a righteous, independent, and democratic state.

Today, we also recall President Ibrahim Rugova's statement that the <x0nd anniversary of September 7th 1990 has entered Kosovo's newest history as the day of establishing the foundations of the state of Kosovo, which came after the July 2nd July Declaration of Independence of the same year.

In this anniversary, we highly appreciate and appreciate the contribution of the then deputies of the Kosovo Parliament, who at a very serious time and under extraordinary circumstances approved the Kacanic Constitution on September 7th 1990. We also humble ourselves before women and men who worked day and night to live the eternal dream of freedom and independence. ”
