Foreign Minister Donika Grovalla has indicated that she has sent protest marks to Northern Macedonia for last night's incident with President Vjosa Osmani, where Skopje Airport security has attempted to get its private phone and postpone it.

The ministry has demanded that Macedonian authorities take immediate measures to investigate the case and ensure that such events are not repeated in the future.

“Minist Gervalla has filed a protest note with northern Macedonia authorities, demanding immediate and complete clarification of the incident. At the same time, it has been required that Macedonian authorities take immediate measures to investigate the case and ensure that such events are not repeated in the future”, the report says.

As reported in the foreign affairs ministry's announcement, President Osmani faced inadequate and illegal treatment by airport security members.

“Linked to yesterday's incident at Skopje Airport, where the president of the Republic of Kosovo, the United States. Dr. Vjosa Osmani, faced with inadequate and illegal treatment by airport security members, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo has taken immediate steps by seeking official and details of the case from the North Macedonia Embassy in Kosovo”, the report said further.

In addition, it becomes known that Gervalla, has met with North Macedonia's ambassador to Kosovo last night after the incident and also today, seeking clarification on the case.

“also, Minister Gervalla has held a meeting in the MPJ with the deputy prime minister of Northern Macedonia today, Mr. Arben Fetai, with whom they have discussed the incident in question and the need to take quick institutional action. Under the actions undertaken, Minister Grovalla has accepted a phone call from her counterpart, Foreign Affairs Minister Timco Mucunski, during which the Kosovo institutions' concerns were voiced after yesterday's” incident.
