Customs reveals two cases of undeclared money at Brnjak border point

Kosovo customs has announced that two cases of undeclared monetary means are listed at the Brnjak border checkpoint.

Two people during the raid have been found to be well worth over 10,000 euros.

“Around 14:20, at the entrance of the PKK Brnjak, has reached a vehicle in which two people were found: driver and passenger. During a routine check, due to suspicion, the vehicle was selected for control on the second line. Customs officials asked the parties if they had anything to declare, any goods for customs or monetary means. Passengers were declared to have nothing to declare. During the search of vehicles and passengers from customs and police officials, two cases of monetary means were discovered in the amount of over 10,000.00 €”, customs says in the report.

On the first person, customs says they found 10,220, until the second person found 10,100.

“After the discovery of the cases, investigative officials were announced, who came to the scene and interviewed the parties. The state prosecutor was notified of cases in question. Based on Law No. 05L-096, the parties were confiscated 25% of the monetary means, while 75% of the monetary means were temporarily banned at the order of prosecutor”.

Kosovo customs said it remains committed to fighting smuggling and illegal activities, guaranteeing our country's economic and financial security.
