Subvention of buying textbooks, opposition seeks to interview Nagavci

The Parliamentary Investigative Commission for the process of subsidising the purchase of textbooks and teaching tools for primary education and lower education students for the 2023/2024 school year has discussed the time dynamic of interviewing witnesses, where it was approved to become a draft proposal by the Commission's chairman for members, the Online Economy reports.

At this meeting, besides witnesses from the publishing houses of other acts involved in the process, Minister of Education Arberie Nagavci was asked to be interviewed.

Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Bekim Haxhiu requested that members of MAST, libraries and then ministers be included on the list.

“List I think should have its priority up until we have a timeline. How many financial tools have been spent on teaching tools 2023-2024, how many tools the government has shared, and how many tools behind MAST have been spent, why negotiations with publishing houses have failed, whether there have been offers, or there are differences with past years, etc.”, Haxhiu said.

And Alliance for the Future of Kosovo deputy Shemsedin Dreselj said it would be appropriate to collect the data and then come to the Commission report, Minister Arberie Nagavci.
