On this occasion, the 16-year-old victim from Drenas had shown how he was sexually abused by the teacher, Shzezen Jakaj, and then by police official Wessel Wessel.
The latter had forced her to have an abortion after she was pregnant.
They both faced justice in this case. And with the charge of sexual abuse of minors was Gazmend Halilaj, who was originally a lawyer for Professor Jackie.
Two more professors had joined the group after examining the girl's phone. Because of the sexual abuse of minors, all of these were subjected to a process of justice in 2019. The final decision for them, even for the retrial process, was issued by the Pristina Foundation Court.
Professor Marzezen Jakaj, who first committed the crime, received four years and six months in prison. Half a year less the court gave police Wessel, who was chief of investigations at the Drenas police station. So many years, 4, were awarded to lawyer Gazmend Halilaj.
The professor who was later investigated, I.R., received 24 months in prison, which he would not hold unless he committed another three-year criminal offence. The other was released completely. These sentences are insufficient, according to the victim's representative.
The lawyer says the sentences should be much higher, since the victim and her family were severely damaged. The injured are seeking compensation, and the indictment for this has been handed over to the court.
These expect that, as provided by procedure, the prosecution will file complaints about this retrial ruling. Lawyers may do the same, but whether they will do so is unknown. None of them refused to plead for Clan, about the newest court decision.
This case had prompted numerous reactions in the country, including the heads of state and ambassadors serving in Kosovo.
Also held for this was the extraordinary session in the Republic Assembly, while protests were held in some municipalities in support of the victim. /Klan cosova
