Bekir Grguri, a degraded man in position in the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) due to the sowing of wheat in the ash depot about 11 years ago, has been elected today as a frontman of the General Director's duty.
From today, with the decision of the Corporation's Board of Directors, Bekir Grguri will exercise the competencies of the KEK director.
Paparaci has learned that the board has chosen Gergur to exercise the position of majority director of votes in the latest meeting.
The newly appointed member of the KEK chief-general's post has strong ties with power.
The dig was part of the Vetevendosje Movement list, which had run for a seat at the Obilic Community Assembly.

The KEK director's position has remained vacant since 25 April last year, when the Board of Directors suspended Nagip Krasniqi, the former general director arrested on April 19th under allegations of corruption.
According to a report by the Journal of Tribuna, in 2012 two people had sown wheat in the midst of the ash depot. Unbelievable but true. In the midst of the ash depot, wheat is cultivated in Kosovo. Even less than 15 hectares [15 ha] of contaminated land were planted with this agricultural culture”, the newspaper reported at the time.
Who were these two people?
One of them is Bekir Grguri, elected chief KEK today. The other name was Azem Bytyqi, a resident of the Dardish village of the Obilic municipality.
The area where wheat was growing, which Bytyqi's Gergur had planted, suspected of being carcinogenic because of the presence of heavy metals, was surrounded and guarded by KEK security workers. It could only be accessed with special permission from management, the newspaper Tribuna reported at the time.
