Why Some States Celebrate Christmas on December 24

In most parts of Eastern Europe and Scandinavian Europe, Christmas gifts are traditionally exchanged on the evening of December 24, rather than officially on December 25.

Thus, Christmas may be celebrated at different dates depending on your location, which religious beliefs hold and historical traditions.

Countries respecting this tradition include the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, but there are other countries.

December 24th represents the start of Christmas for these places and begins only in the afternoon.

Throughout history, December 25 for these countries is considered more a religious holiday and holy days resting and worshiping than a day of celebration.

Countries celebrating on December 24th are also mostly Christian, and a Christian liturgy day always begins and ends at sunset every day.

Hence, Jesus is considered to be born at 5 o'clock on December 24, which means that his birthday ends at the same hour on December 25.

That is why tradition dictates that Christmas dinner be eaten on December 24th and Christmas morning on the morning of December 25.

So, basically, Christmas lies in two days.
