Nagip Krasniqi will face new charges of misuse of official office.
The Special Prosecutor has filed charges today against the head of the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK), for a new case of misuse of official office.
The new charges filed are linked to negotiated contracts signed by him during the period when Krasniqi exercised the position of KEK chief chief.
The Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo has filed an indictment at the Constitutional Court in Pristina, the Special Department, in the case known “KEK” against N.K. defendants,Y.D., I.Z.”, said in communique.
The defendants are charged that during the 2021 period of 2023, with their illegal actions have caused damage to Kosovo's budget -- around 37 million euros by committing criminal acts: Misuse of office or official authority, revealing official secrecy and assisting in misuse of office or official authority”, says the communique.
Investigations into the case were launched in January 2023 and finalised with charges after nearly two years.
