Police have announced that today on November 1st they have detained three suspects involved in a sophisticated property fraud scheme.
The report released to the media says that since October 18th, 2024, specialist from the regional unit of general investigation processed information suggesting that some people, through the use of forged identification documents, were trying to cheat out the sale of a high-value parcel in the Matti cadastral area in Pristina.
After the entire investigative action company, police investigators identified suspects, time and location aimed at committing fraud, at a notary office in Gjilan. Thus, around 11:30, police arrested three suspects -- (two men and one female) -- and, in accordance with the decision issued by the state prosecutor -- appointed the 48 hours' detention measure”.
Further “Indices have led to the identification of another suspect, who is currently on the run by the police. This case highlights the continued commitment of the Pristina Regional Police Directorate to protecting the community from fraudulent schemes, fighting criminal activities, as well as bringing suspects to justice”, the report said.
