Americans today will commemorate the victims of September 11th, at memorial ceremonies held on the 22nd anniversary of the most deadly terrorist attack on American soil.

The commemorations extend from attack places to the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania, to Alaska, and beyond.

President Joe Biden will attend the ceremony at the military base in Anchorage.

His visit, on his return from travel to India and Vietnam, shows that the influence of 11 September was felt on every corner of the nation, however distant. Airplane attacks claimed some 3,000 lives and reformed American foreign policy and internal fears.

That day, “we were a country, a nation, a people. That was the feeling. All gathered together and did what we could, where we were, to try to help, “said Eddie Ferguson, chief of fire in Virginia's Goochland County, reports the Associated Press, broadcast Klankosova.tv.

Vice President Kamala Harris will join the ceremony in the National Court of Memorial and the 11 September Museum. The event will not be commented on by political figures, rather the platform will be given to the victims' families for an hour-long reading of the names of the dead.
