Vetevendosje Movement spokesman Arlind Manjuka, in the early hours of Monday, has re-published some statistics about the number of parents that have applied for subsidisation of textbooks.

In a Facebook post, Manjuka has delivered a post of Deputy Education Minister Taulant Kelmendi, who has proudly announced that by 9100 today, 51,200 applications have been accepted.

“On the Kosovo platform for subsidisation of textbooks and school materials so far at 09:00 hours have been accepted 51,200 applications”, wrote Deputy Minister Kelmendi, later forwarded by spokesman Manjuka.

It is possible not to benefit from children's books. Over 50,000 applications in Kosovo”, the leader of the ruling party has increased, following criticism of the number of applicants.

And analyst Imer Mushkolaj has called the pride of power in this matter shameful.

The number of applications for textbooks, the power is presenting it as a success. Are they normal? Why have parents given what other choice besides application? I swear to God to pride myself on this” item, he wrote Mushkolaj on Facebook.

Even journalist Zekrija Shabani estimates it is an insult for the power to consider successfully the parents' application to be subsidised for textbooks, since they have not been offered another option.

“Don't take, parents don't have an extra option for children's books and normal ones to apply on this platform”, Saban wrote.

We remember that by this way of subsidising textbooks and school materials through the e-Kosovo platform, it has come as a result of the STAT failure to provide textbooks for primary and lower school students.

Arberie Nagavci's ministry had failed to reach agreements with publishing houses, accusing them of price hikes.

From 2008 to today, this is the first time that an education minister fails to provide free textbooks without the need for parents to pay in advance. /Periscopi/
