Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has declared that due to “a unilateral pledge” by former President Hashim Thaci towards NATO, the military in the country cannot be sent.

Kurti, at a media conference after the Security Council meeting, has said there cannot be enough police officials to guard the border in the north.

Here Kurt also mentioned the pledge of former Prime Minister Thaci, whom he had sent to the prosecutor.

“About a decade ago, former Prime Minister Thaci has sent a unilateral pledge to former NATO Secretary General Rasmussen, telling Kosovo security forces will not cross the Iber River and since 2013 we have no army in northern Kosovo due to this pledge to NATO. Consequently, NATO, KFOR is Kosovo's army in northern Kosovo, respectively, and the border is guarded.”, he said.
