The constitution overturned the KKP Law a few days ago.

The Constitutional Court's recent decision about the Law for the Prosecutorial Council confirms that unconstitutional in this government is becoming the standard government norm, while at the same time the assessment and comment coming from the members of the government shows the indifference and authoritarian approach the government has. It is meaningless and at the same time unacceptable that a Government for any Constitutional decision should have political attitudes and at the same time postpone laws that have opposed the Venice Commission, and nonpolitical, non-governmental institutions of the local and international level, and that still try and push them into approval. There is nothing else in place except that through laws that become to capture independent institutions, institutions that have essentially oversight and control of the country's institutional system. This logic should be divided, once and for all, turned to constitutional right to the division of powers”, Tahiri said.
He has called for the “government to raise caution to the maximum and not risk democratic achievements”.

The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo's Economic Affairs adviser, Fatmir Gashi, has accused the Government of unprofessionalism and irresponsibly, due to the Kosovo Trust Board's failure.

At a media conference together with AAK deputy Besnik Tahiri, Gashi has said this Government would have to make reform of the pension system in Kosovo, rather than fail to appoint the board.

“will start from the Trust as it is the main topic. The government has failed to appoint the Kosovo Pension Trust Board. To me, it is very surprising and pointless that in this crisis situation from 2020 to 2023, seeing the problems in the world's financial institutions, not forming the Trust board, it is meaningless. From this government I have expected to reform the pension system in Kosovo, let alone no longer appoint a very important board. The pension fund today manages two and a half billion euros. These means to be managed without supervision is the government's great responsibility”, he said.

According to Gashi, these are unforgivable mistakes of the Government.

This is more than non-professionalism, it's more than responsibility. These are an unforgivable mistake that can't be forgiven to this government by such behavior. The economic development trends are not today, they are from 2020, from the Russia's-19th century war in Ukraine, and the fall trend will continue, will continue to decline in capital markets. What we can do is we can act to make their impact on our” market, he said.

Meanwhile, Tahiri has cited price hikes over the past two years, saying the burden is weighing on Kosovo citizens.

It's been a year and a half that we've been alarmed at raising prices. What makes sense that within two years the price of electricity will rise three times? What makes it logical for Government on one side to subsidize and on the other still increase the price of electricity? This is a huge burden for the citizens of Kosovo, what we've seen in these two years is that the price of the consumer basket has been raised, the price of electricity, property tax and all that is received as human survival, while salaries have remained in both the public sector and the private sector, the same”, he said.
