Milatovic said he sticks to the fact that Montenegro has recognised Kosovo's independence, (Enter ABC News).
Regarding the Pristina-Belgrade dialogue, Milatovic said that all states in the region would be happy if the two countries reached an agreement.
Question: What about Kosovo? There have been rumours that politics in Montenegro requires a withdrawal from Kosovo's ratification. Where are you staying about this?
James Milatovic: I am very happy that Belgrade and Pristina, under the umbrella of the European Union, have launched this dialogue. I think that Montenegro, as well as all countries in the region, would be very happy in everything that Belgrade and Pristina decide, because only the region united without borders and without their economic costs, the region that has been incorporated into the EU, is a stable and prosperous region. With Kosovo, I really think we should build bridges in the benefits of people in Kosovo and Montenegro.
Question: Do you or not support the fact that your country has recognised Kosovo as an independent state?
James Milatovic: It's definitely a fact and we stand by the fact. I think that other parties, all of them, have signed a treaty, apparently late last year with the history of restructuring with Prime Minister Abazovic, where all parties recognised the fact, including the Kosovo issue. Sure, yeah. These are the facts, and I think what we need is to build ways for an economic development among the countries of the region to finally get to the right level for the EU. Let's speed up our countries' integration. To have access to EU funds to develop our infrastructure. I know there is a project to build the Nis Peace Highway (Serbia's Council), in Pristina. These are stories that I promote and I think is the future of the region.
