Under conditions of pandemic and social distance, housework was seen as a short-term solution, although it has the potential to be a long-term practice for many industries. However, it seems that work at home is at risk precisely in bed.
That said, if you don't create a separate space at home, but you spend your days in bed on laptops, you're likely to face some problems.
First, you create disorders in sleep patterns. When you work where you sleep, your mind begins to link that space to activity and not to rest,” told the Hard Side sleep expert and neurology professor Rachel Salas.
Using electronic equipment from bed can also cause health problems. Blue light exposure during the night prevents secreting melatonin, otherwise known as the sleep hormone that affects our natural body clock.
Second, it affects productivity. One study noted that 72% of American respondents agreed to work from bed, and these people were more likely to experience sleep problems because of anxiety and stress. This bad sleep quality can endanger energy and productivity, especially if the room has dim light.
Thirdly, your bed messes with how you stand. The mattressing and soft surface encourage a firm or extended position. In time, such steady behavior will cause body pain, especially on the neck and back.
Fourth, it can affect your relationship with your partner. Working out of bed while he/she's there with you can make her partner feel i/rated. /Anabelle
