“Neomalstore” that left Europe for its roots

Neither Tirana nor some of the European leaders convinced Marjana Kocek to start her career after graduating with excellent results for political science and international relations. A loud voice inside her says she called her back to her <x0...

“My childhood memories and the way my mother had raised me made me feel that I wouldn't feel anywhere like I did in my native country, but I still didn't have what I wanted”, Maryana tells Radio Free Europe.

A graduate in Tirana, 22-year-old girl lived for a year in Genoa, Frankfurt and Stockholm. She says she had several employment opportunities in her profession, but that she was not attracted and decided to return to Albania eight months ago.

I was forced to return to the roots while I traveled to Sweden. I was traveling in public transportation when the bus driver put in an Albanian song. I approached him and talked to him, he was from Dukagnani. I was very surprised at how much we, Albanians”, are scattered around the world, relates Marianna.

New from the Dukagjin Malthia says this story was added to many others found in its online blog for Albanians who have met across Europe wherever it has gone.

He says there's endless, beautiful, painful history, each being driven by homesickness for Albanian roots.

She says that she had long thought of publishing them so that through them she could have a little influence on her peers, not just about leaving Albania.

I wanted to publish for a lot of people who I think should be separated from the illusion models they've developed, to make them think that a better future can be found right in their own country. This always bothered me, but I had not yet found a name for my blog - a name that represented me and my country. I called the blog Neomal”.

The history I threw into it caused great influence, so I didn't expect it, but I realized that young people need this kind of imagination, this threat of thoughts and feelings, which reminds us of who we are and where we come from, to that return to our roots”, says Marianne.

I came back to Albania because you're nowhere cheaper than home.

Exhausted by the noise and chaos of the major European cities, in April of this year, Marjana returned to her <x0-seconds at a tower on the shore of Lake Koman at the entrance of the Shala River.

Now it was time for another step for “Neomal agroturism”.

Mariana's family had experience in tourism.

In 2010, her brothers opened the Shala River trails, offering boat trips to the tourist villages in the area.

But Marian wanted something related to the land of her ancestors. It decided to open the doors of the inherited tower for tourists to make known the centuries-old history of this area, traditions, customs, foods, which are <x0-magical”.

The tower draws attention to European policy personalities

Mariana indicates that her family tower is the first and the only one waiting for tourists in this area, which has a rare beauty but has a lack of electricity for nearly 30 years.

Her family has found its own solution with generators and solar panels.

This is an element that says it surprises not a few foreign tourists, but they, above all,

The new one says it has remained surprised that the tower has attracted the attention of European policy personalities. He has been visited by Dutch Transport Minister Mark Harbers, France's ambassador to the Middle East, Xavier Chatel, etc.

What is offered is too attractive for foreigners. The tower is just like it was built. We place our soup near the chimney with biofood, and this is an unusual experience for them because it is authentic. They appreciate the food they say is no longer available in Europe. In addition, the river, the lake, the boat, the mountain, the mountains, the paths they walk in, want to know the children with the earth, the way the plant, the animal, grows, as is the life cycle, how you should live in peace with nature”, says Maryana.

According to her, tourists come from Scandinavian countries, from Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and so on.

“Most do not know where the apple comes from, for example, that they buy at supermarkets. This seems absurd to us, but to them it's impressive”, Mariana relates.

Poor “food”, but rich in taste and history

It speaks passionately about any of the foods in the area and the history behind them.

I grew up with these poor foods, but that, in fact, are rich in history and taste. Each of them has a centuries - old history that relates to people's lives, territory, Malta itself. For example, the masterpiece comes from the stables of high mountains. When residents of these areas went to the mountains in winter, they did not have the luxury of cooking bread daily”.

To make corn bread consumed, they found a solution, as they actually had to find out about everything. The hard corn bread has been tamed with melted butter. To make it delicious, they have poured honey on it. Three simple ingredients in a tasteful and history food. All the food has come down from the mountains, from the stages to us, and they have special spiritual history”, relates Marianne, who has taken very carefully the stories of the Mots of the Dukagjin area.

Marianne says that corn bread has another taste in her country. It ripens in the cerema, which is a pan made of red mud, and it is covered in khki, or sac.

Thus, the earth's element and fire also enhances corn bread, she says.

Another meal is sleep, also used in Kukes, Puka, or Kosovo, but Dukagjin's sleep says it's special.

The falja has once been sacrificed for holiday days, for a desire of the mountain, for joy, and preparing it is truly sacrifice. It takes four hours to prepare. Unlike other areas, sleep in us is sweet, each of the petals, except butter is painted even with honey”.

Other spades are liqueurs, corn cakes ripening on coal-covered canoes, beans cooked in watery, wild pots of water and mint, soups of Hittites or other wild plants, and of course it's all bio from our farms and our” land, Marjana says.

The first class, if absent from Kocek's farm or land, is provided just as the mountainmen have always provided: exchanging goods with each other.

Marianna says corn is not cultivated by itself, but they provide flour in nearby villages and thus help each other economically.

Marianne's message to young people: Don't leave, try back to the roots

In the family business “Neomal agriturism”, besides Marians, her mother, whom Marian calls “the kitchen star”, her two brothers and her sister-in-law, are included.

Marjan has to walk about half an hour to climb the top of the mountains for telephone waves to post on her social networks the views of her roots, where she says she has found peace and feels satisfied.

Every time you climb those wild paths, it is more connected to its land, its place that you name blessed for what nature has forgiven. Marianne has a message for young people in Albania whose flight has turned into phenomena for years now.

Do not leave without trying to finish what you can do in your country! I say your main focus should be on identity, which makes us unique and not hurry to join everything new that comes. There are certain values that our country has, mainly wild highlands. The world lost them from development, or it didn't. There are values that, although no longer embraced by the masses, must be cherished with great love and fanaticism. In capitals, there are patterns without essence and illusions, we need to go back to our roots”, says Marjana for Radio Free Europe.

She thinks Albania has a lot of untapped natural and human potential, so there's also a policy appeal:

I wish that support policies for citizens would be taken, but, above all, I wish we would be aware of the extraordinary natural resources we have. Paradise is not in Europe, but it's where we have roots. They expect us to feed”.

In December, Marianna received the “younger month” award from the State Ministry for Youth. (Rel)
