Book fair opens in Pristina, over 100 publishers present about two thousand new titles

Edon Zeneli, chairman of the Association of Kosovo Editors, at the opening of this fair, said this edition should be held two years ago, but because of the pandemic it was postponed. However, he recalled that in the difficult days of COVID, the book accompanied people and served as a window to enjoy freedom.

He has added that over 100 publishers will present thousands of new titles, books for any age, on any subject or interest.

Hajrlla Ceku, minister of Culture, has said this event has already received the specific effigy of important cultural events, where we all gather to celebrate the book's day.

And he also remembered the time when we were isolated from the pandemic saying we gave you back more books during the closing period. He has said we are working on a new culture policy towards reading.

Pristina Deputy Chairman Alban Zogaj said that during the years the book fair in Pristina has been one of the most important cultural events.

The “is events where new ideas are shared and where new prospects --” are seen, he said.

The fair will be held from 7-12 June, at the facilities of the Youth Palace. Some 40,000 visitors are expected to visit the fair, while international and national writers, book professionals, publishers, translators and books will be present.
