“tasking for removing festival “Sunny Hill”, the event that placed Kosovo on the world cultural map, is an irreparable scandal for our country”, writes Abdixhiku in his Facebook account.

He says the government went against the LDK's government decision in the capital to hold this festival.

“They did their best to reject the LDK government's decision in the capital assembly to hold an event like this in Kosovo permanently”, he points out.

Obadiah's full Facebook script:

This government does not know how to build and build, but it does not allow others to create and build. Today, Kurt's paranoid rejection of power gave the worst possible blow to cultural life in Pristina and Kosovo.

Festival exit task “Sonny Hill”, the event that placed Kosovo on the global cultural map, is an irreparable scandal for our country. The removal of the world's summer home of the world's most famous artists is the extinction of opportunity for our young and young people who, however, had an event close to themselves that many countries would like. Our paranoid state does not want this event. They did their best to reject the LDK government's decision in the capital assembly to hold an event like this in Kosovo forever.

This paranoid policy is the continuation of the political gloom that people of power are producing at every step. This distorted Kosovo of them, our citizens do not deserve it.

The Pristina municipality was hired to give “Sunny Hill Festival” 17 hectares of land used for 99 years in order to hold this event in Kosovo.

But further procedures have dragged on to Government, which has led organisers to eventually withdraw. The festival was scheduled to be held from August 4th to August 7th.

The festival, which began to take place four years ago, had also paused in 2020s and 2021, as a result of the Devov-19 pandemic, which swept the whole world.

The first edition of the festival was held between August 10th and August 12th in 2018 in Germ Park. As organisers had said that year, the festival was attended by more than 18 thousand people. The ticket price was $55. Among the performers was singer I want Lipa and her father, Dukagini, with his group Oda.

The second edition of the festival was held in 2019, between dates 2, 3 and 4 August, as well as in Germ Park. Among the performers were world artists Calvin Harris, Gashi, Kongcaroussell, Michael Cyrus, and again, I want Lipa myself.

The next two years, 2020 and 2021, the festival received the pandemic, while in 2022 the festival will not be held due to institutional neglect and according to confirmed Gazette Express information, festival “Sunny Hill” will be moved to Tirana.
